Challenges and reasons for implementing an electronic signature solution

Together with Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, the idea was developed in 2021 to provide a modular platform that supports banks in obtaining consent and e-signatures in a legally compliant and efficient manner. This resulted in the SaaS product “DialogOnline”, which is now used by over 70 financial service providers. It quickly became clear to finstreet that they did not want to implement the eSignature and the associated certificates themselves, both technically and legally. On the one hand, finstreet’s role is to provide a front end for bank employees and orchestrate various microservices, including the connection to the banks’ core banking systems and document archives via interfaces. On the other hand, the strategic and technical support of the banks during the introduction of the solution.

Why Namirial?

After looking at various providers, Namirial was chosen as a partner because the company not only offers signature workflows but also trust services such as remote identification and the provision of electronic certificates for qualified electronic signatures and seals from a single source. The “eSignAnyWhere” signature workflow was connected via an API, making it an ideal fit for the technical infrastructure of “DialogOnline”.

The signing process is also impressive from the user’s point of view. All documents are structured and clearly displayed in the signature workflow. Where signatures are required, there are clear markings that make it easier to scroll through and read the documents. A tabular view also makes it possible to select each document individually using a checkbox and jump directly to the relevant signature field. By marking the documents in this list view, a so-called “batch signature” can then be executed with a single TAN, in which a separate Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) is technically created for each document. This is legally crucial, as the documents are then archived individually, each with its own QES. Subsequent changes to the PDFs would invalidate the signature.

“We are delighted to have found the ideal partner for DialogOnline in Namirial and hope to inspire other banks with our joint solution in the future.”
