Namirial achieves ISO14067:2018 Certification for Comparative Carbon Footprint, leading the way in sustainable Digital Transformation

Senigallia, Italy – 30th January 2025 – Namirial, a leading supplier in trusted software and services to automate and digitally transform business processes, is proud to announce its recent ISO14067:2018 certification, highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. This certification, which assesses the comparative carbon footprint of digital services, positions Namirial as one of the first Italian companies to obtain such a certification, reflecting its ongoing dedication to sustainable digital transformation.

Namirial is focused on supporting organizations in adopting efficient and sustainable digital solutions. The company offers a comprehensive range of digital trust services, including electronic signature software, digital identity verification, and secure document management.

“Our recent study on the comparative carbon footprint of our eSign Anywhere (eSAW) service versus traditional document signing highlights the significant environmental advantage of digital solutions.” said Luigi Enrico Tomasini, Process Innovation, Compliance & ESG Director at Namirial. “Our analysis, conducted with ZeroCO2 and verifed by Bureau Veritas, shows eSAW emits just 2.901 grams of CO₂ equivalent per document, compared to 182.006 grams for traditional methods, making it 62.74 times more environmentally friendly.”

Namirial’s ISO14067:2018 certification underscores the environmental benefits of its digital solutions. By comparing the lifecycle emissions of its digital services with traditional analog processes, Namirial demonstrated the clear environmental advantages of digital transformation. The company adopted a conservative approach in its study, always erring on the side of overestimating emissions for digital services while underestimating them for analog processes. The certification reflects Namirial’s commitment to a more sustainable future, where digital processes significantly reduce paper usage, fuel consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with global sustainability goals.

For example, Namirial’s electronic signature solutions reduce the need for printing, signing, and transporting documents, resulting in notable reductions in energy usage and emissions. Additionally, digital transactions minimize physical document handling, supporting global efforts to lower carbon footprints. Moreover, Namirial’s digital solutions facilitate remote work and virtual meetings, further decreasing the environmental costs associated with travel and reducing the emissions and congestion that come with commuting.
