Namirial is participating in the 16th Annual Banking Innovation Forum & Expo as a sponsor. This event is one of the leading platforms for decision-makers, innovators and experts in the banking and finance industry to discuss current challenges and trends.

This year’s agenda offers exciting insights into, among other things

  • Digital transformation in the banking sector: how banks are adapting their processes to new technologies.
  • Innovative customer solutions: Ways to optimize customer experiences and strengthen trust.
  • Legally valid digital processes: Secure handling of digital contracts and transactions.
  • Artificial intelligence and automation: potential for increasing efficiency and new business models.

The European Commission has set itself an ambitious goal: All EU citizens should have access to a digital identity by 2030. However, there are still challenges, especially in countries such as Germany, where the acceptance and use of digital identities is lagging behind expectations.

The Federal Ministry of the Interior has launched a public consultation and innovation process to drive forward the development of European digital identity wallets. This is intended to promote user-friendly, secure and versatile solutions. As part of this, the “Funke Challenge EUDI Wallet Prototypes” competition, led by SPRIND, will develop innovative prototypes. Phase 2 of the competition ran from September to December 2024, and phase 3 will be completed in September 2025.

Klaus Fellner will participate in the panel “Innovative Approaches to Fraud Prevention and AML Compliance in Banking” on April 3 and share his insights.

On the second day of the event at 12 noon, Klaus Fellner and Jörg Lenz will also have their session on the Innovation Stage. The two will talk about the following:

European Digital Identity Wallet & Anti-Money Laundering Regulation: Game changers for drastic UX improvements in KYC, onboarding and signature process

·         Will the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) really make a difference?
